Eric Ravilious died on war service near Iceland in 1942. He was 39 years old.

A large proportion of his work is held by the Towner Museum in Eastbourne, which is well worth a visit.


This photograph was part of the Taylor Wessing Prize exhibition in 2016. It wasn't the winner, but it could have been.
